Year in Review: 2020

Second Cohort

In October 2020, following the success of the first cohort of data scientists, Partners in Skills launches it’s second cohort. This time, participants will also complete a semester in Data Analysis and Data Engineering in addition to the core Data Science certifications. The added tracks will now present even more opportunities for Partners in Skills graduates in a competitive job market.

The Screening Process

A rigorous screening process was implemented ahead of the second cohort. Applicants first met with Partners in Skills founder and CEO and were interviewed to see if they are a good fit for the thorough and conscientious work required of the course participants. Then, applicants were given a critical thinking assessment to gauge their acumen and understanding.

Those that successfully completed the assessment were invited to a two week introductory course. This course is an intensive bootcamp for Data Science and provides a taster of the full course. It’s an opportunity for the applicants to see if the course is a good fit for their strengths and at the same time gives the administration a chance to identify applicants with a high likelihood of success.

Following the bootcamp, 18 of the top students were invited to join the course. This will triple the current number of data science graduates.

Receives Grant

Partners in Skills has secured a $320,000 grant from Mercaz Kivun for its second training course in Data Science and Data Engineering. This will allow women who otherwise could not afford the high cost of training to take our high quality course at a heavily discounted rate. Graduates are expected to enter the job market with a high earning potential.
