Introduction

Partners in Skills is proud to announce that it has been granted funds from the Maks and Lea Rothstein Charitable Youth Trust for a Jewish Community Leadership Development Program.

“We are honored to have been selected by the Maks and Lea Rothstein Charitable Youth Trust to help support their mission of women’s education and employment in Israel,” states a Partners in Skills spokesperson. “This allocation, once again, underscores the importance of providing high-level, relevant technology skills for individuals so that they have the confidence and skills to be competitive in the job market. We are looking forward to a productive partnership with the Rothstein Trust as we together tackle critical inequities in our communities.”

About

Partners in Skills is a nonprofit organization that was founded with the mission to enable underemployed women living in Israel to find suitable employment with wages that are competitive in the global marketplace. These individuals typically possess high levels of motivation, and some also have advanced degrees and years of experience in their respective fields, but struggle to find employment that adequately compensates them for high-level work, often due to family circumstances or geographic barriers.

Partners in Skills provides a range of training programs, including technical courses and professional development workshops, to help women in Israel develop the skills needed to thrive in high-tech industries. The organization also partners with AI startups in Israel to provide internship opportunities for its graduates.

Graduates of Partners in Skills enjoy a high placement rate in the Israeli hi-tech industry. All graduates of its two previous one-year data science courses successfully transitioned from interns to full employees with competitive salaries at the partner startups. The organization has already graduated and placed two cohorts, with a third cohort of forty women currently underway.

In addition to its already established data science training program, Partners in Skills is planning to launch a new six-month advanced track, with a first cohort scheduled for 2023. This new initiative is geared toward women that have completed some tech training in the past, have yet to use these skills in a professional setting, and would like to learn up-to-date tools that will enable them to attain full-time competitive developer roles. The organization anticipates that graduates of this new program will transition more quickly into full-time employment.

Conclusion

The Partners in Skills and Maks and Lea Rothstein Charitable Youth Trust partnership embodies the true vision of education. The Partners in Skills training both directly assists women in achieving success and fulfilling their career potential in the high-tech industry in Israel and indirectly adds high-demand talent to the high-tech industry in Israel as a whole. This partnership, ultimately, aims to contribute to the growth and success of the Israeli economy.
